WHAT MOTIVATES US?

It will always be a pleasure for us to greet you from our beloved land Venezuela. Peace and grace be given to your lives today and always, and may you have the necessary strength to continue giving yourselves to Jesus Christ.

In seeing almost nine (9) years since our foundation as the church of the Lord, we have the full conviction that as a church we are born of God's heart as an answer for La Aguadita, which is where we live, but also for the Cojedes state and the whole Country of Venezuela.

We know that we are totally dependent on the Lord Jesus Christ, and that throughout these years he has shown us his kindness and fidelity. We are sure of being born, from the natural point of view, in very difficult times for the country, and as Venezuelan people and citizens we don’t deny it or want to hide the sun with a finger; we assume that our country in all the areas, all completely, are dying, the moral is very little, and people do not respect each other, families are destroyed economy does not work, productivity is zero, food is now a daily effort to see what you can eat, where you get it and how you buy it. There is no possible way out. From this human point of view, today our condition painful, sad and shameful. A condition that has forced a lot of people in the population emigrate and become foreigners, but not any kind of foreigner, but foreigners mistreated, despised for being Venezuelans; treated even by Hispanic countries as people of little value, to whom with anything or a few dollars "they can kill their hunger" because that is the image we have in the world.

When I write this to you, I do it with a lot of pain, because although I decided to stay in my country, with my wife and my children, trusting what God has said, it’s painful to see how some of our relatives are returned from some airports rejected by the immigration of those countries when they see that the passport says Venezuela and they start yelling "You come to take our money", "you come because you are dying of hunger in your country, "" you are bad and they will harm our people". These expletives, although I have not experienced them personally, hurt a lot for being Venezuelan and knowing that in much of the world we are despised today.

However, from the spiritual point of view, we know we’ve been born in the best time, where the church of Christ has the great opportunity to act by faith, by faith truly, and to shelter the needy, to feed the hungry, cover the naked, and give with great joy to those who wait for a miracle from God, and they keep hoping that, as it is said here in Venezuela, "God squeezes, but doesn’t hang” or “God takes time, but he doesn’t forget.”

We believe that in our hands is the responsibility and power of representing Christ well, that although the condition wants to undermine us, our position is superior and we count on the Lord, and we have the responsibility of taking Venezuela forward, and for the people have hope; a living hope. It's our turn as the church directly to do this. Unfortunately not everyone understands it because some churches (the vast majority) have colored politically, they have gone behind some political sector just because they have given some resource, or some benefit. Only a small remnant remains faithful, firm, standing in the midst of adversity, and we are counted as part of them. We have never stopped working. We’re always talking about Christ to Families. Always in the houses, in the streets, showing our best smile and encouragement to show the goodness of Jesus.

Today for the last year (since the beginning of 2017, to be exact) we have been evangelizing in La Aguadita. Despite some circumstances we stand firm, carrying the message of the gospel of Christ.  This year, we also started working in another city called Tinaco, about 30 kilometers from La Aguadita, where we already have some believers with whom we meet every Tuesday and Friday. Sometimes it is not easy to go there because there is little public transportation because of strikes in that sector, sometimes we have to go in queue, or asking for a lift. But God has glorified himself. On occasion, we leave at around 7:30 p.m. and there is no public transport anymore and we have to walk approximately 5 kilometers to arrive at a police station and from there to return again in queue or a ride. In La Aguadita we are also doing the evangelistic work. Here we are on Mondays and Friday on the street, in the houses, evangelizing and Wednesday and Saturday forming leaders. On Sundays at our school the Lord opened the door in two schools where we go several times a week and we carry out activities, dynamics, biblical talks and snacks for children and those who are in extreme situations we try to help. We have the arduous desire to close the year in both places with a great social work. We want to take a weekend in December in each city and make a day that consists of: haircut for children and gentlemen free, recreation for children, legal advice, delivery of medicines and vaccines, medical consultations, deliver bags of food and give them a lunch to each person from those communities. And in the night preach the gospel. Our hearts are burning to achieve it, we want to do it and we are praying to the Lord for the resource that will take.

In the same way, we extend the invitation to you who have heard or read this report that if you feel the desire to help, to collaborate, to finance this work to do it and become a part of this great ministry of our church.

Your collaboration can be a cash offering, it can be clothes in good condition, toys for children, school supplies, among other forms. How to make it arrive is in our hands and requests to find a way. There are pastor’s friends in Hispanic countries who do not have the restriction of currencies that can receive and then send it to us in local Venezuelan currency. We want to leave you evidence of the work we have done in both sectors where we have looked after adults and many children. And in advance to leave reflected our thanks for your understanding, support and prayers for what you all do for us.

Peace and Health

Remain of you,

Angel Guerra
